Members have told us that the Midwest Club’s Western party, “Dinner at Deadwood” was so much fun! Check out all the photos below. If you would like to download a digital copy of your photo just left-click on the photo in the gallery at the bottom of this page, when the photo loads on your screen right click on the photo with your mouse and choose Save Image, pick a spot to save it and you’re all done. Our photographer, Ron Hand, really did a great job capturing the smiles on every member’s face. Seeing your friends wearing a cowboy hat and/or a bandanna just makes you feel happy. The Western background for the photos worked better than we anticipated. Thanks to member Mark Rowland for loaning us The Hackers Golf group’s stand to display our background.
Dave Heaton of “Deb and Dave” , beloved Kings Ridge performers, led a specially created western trivia game for our members with his usual hilarious commentary. We appreciate Deb and Dave lending their valuable time.
Our “Who Is the REAL Rusty Bottom” activity was hilarious. Our three “imposters” along with the authentic past Rodeo bull rider all devised stories that were so very creative and hilarious – I’m extremely impressed with their ability to come up with such detailed stories. Not sure what that says about these guys! Our four-member panel who questioned Rusty Bottom did a great job also but they were not able to break our bull riders from their personas. The panel was on the right track with Kathy Haeselin & Craig Danecki choosing Kurt Schmidt but Harold Brooks & Larry Jaybusch were not stumped by choosing Mark Trylovich although Dennis Cole and Dave “Elf” Ellis’ tales were very convincing. Mike Cunningham is greatly appreciated for creating the hybrid game logistics and acting as Master of Ceremonies, we could not have pulled this off without his expertise!
We need to give Mark Trylovich a hearty thank you for sharing his young man’s experience with us all, therefore giving us an activity to supplement our Western party! Mark shared this exciting aspect of his past life with Mike and I nearly a year ago and I immediately knew this was special and requested he keep that part of his life a secret until yesterday – and he did! Thanks Mark!
Our Hostesses, Sheri Perkins and Pam Alvord spent much time organizing and hosting the event. Pam Alvord is also the club’s Treasurer so she was doing double duty at check in time. Thankfully Winnie Metz was able to step in to help. Deb Fisher lent her creativity to the committee. The rooms were set up beautifully and the bright yellow floral centerpieces in Ball canning jars along with the bright colored cowboy hats and bandannas made the room very festive.
Our club continues to grow taking in a few new members each month which is much better than last year’s huge growth spurt. We now have a chance to meet and absorb new faces as they get used to the “high member participation”
format we embrace. We endeavor to eventually include every member in some way to support the club. Be thinking of ways you can share your Superpower!
Not everyone in the club is from the US “Midwest” but we all adopt the personality trait of “Midwest Nice”.
We probably won’t meet again until September when we have a luncheon scheduled at Miller’s Ale House. Last year’s luncheon at Miller’s went very well and they have assured me they will be able to handle our group no matter how large it gets. I have slight concerns but Barry, the same District Manager as last year promises they will perform as well or better than they did last year. His assurance and the fact they rewarded our patronage with 20 Gift Cards last year makes them strong candidates for our club’s business. The Miller’s Ale House gift cards were much appreciated as prizes at last October’s Football party and November’s Thanksgiving luncheon.
