The Midwest Club’s annual Christmas party was held Sunday evening, December 17th at the beautiful home of Glenda Schmit and Dan Reining. Our “Jingle Mingle” attendees were treated to the antics of “Buddy the Elf”,our very own Dave Ellis, who not only entertained us but looked especially good in his costume! It seems he has found his true calling or at least a second career! Ron Hand, Elf’s Escort, and Brenda Fryers helped to keep Buddy focused while distributing the Silly Santa gifts
Our hosts, Glenda and Dan along with Bernadette and Alan Fedorovich warmly welcomed guests while beautifully presenting the delicious potluck dishes along with staging the bar in the spacious three-car garage that more than 50 attendees appreciated!
Mike Cunningham in festive attire whisked members from their parked cars to the party. At the same time, Winnie Metz assisted folks carrying their Silly Santa gifts and potluck dishes into the gaiety of the party. The committee of Pam Alvord, Sheri Perkins and myself met with our four hosts and together planned what some felt would not be possible with such a large group – a successful party in a member’s home! Glenda and Dan were exceptional hosts accommodating our every need with enthusiasm.
The club is blessed to have such warm and friendly members who are eager to help out whenever asked. As Deb Fisher said at the party “this is how folks from the midwest are, friendly and hard working that help each other” the club has benefited from the spirit of the Midwesterners and their friends!
